Plan International has opened applications for the role of Logistics Officer.

Responsibilities
- Lead the logistics processes performance analysis, monitoring and reporting across the country both in the PIAA office of Garoua
- Capacity building on logistics areas (tools, procedures, systems)
- Ensure that the KPIs for logistics are measured and improvement actions and plans are put in place to align with the standards
- Support and report to the logistics coordinator in minimising financial and compliance risks throughout the logistics processes
- Implement the organisation’s systems and procedures at area offices
- Transport management, i.e., organisation of the movement of goods and personnel, driver’s management, vehicle management, reporting, etc
- Review all logistics files in field location for compliance and supporting documents
- Keep up-to-date data on logistics activities
- Conduct regular spot checks on assets and stock in your field location
- Participate in assets and stock counts, once every quarter
- Monitor the use of vehicles and generators by ensuring that log books are checked and signed regularly
- Consolidate and review various logistics reports and share them with the logistics coordinator
- Ensure the proper physical and electronic archiving of logistics documents in accordance with the filing tree and Plan International standards
- Ensure that logbooks, vehicle maintenance documents, and fuel reports enter TrackPoint
- Organise and supervise the concerned programmes’ distribution activities from the packages (assemblies) to the distribution to the beneficiaries
- Ensure that warehouse procedures are respected and all movements are properly documented.
- Ensure proper management of office building, including access management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Management, Administration Management or an equivalent university degree in a relevant field
- Four years, minimum, of professional experience, including two years, minimum, in a similar position, preferably in an international NGO, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of donor regulations, including EU, BMZ GIZ UNHCR and/or other foreign government development agencies, and other multilateral development agencies inprocurement matters (desirable)
- An interest in international development and public health programmes and an understanding of the synergy between the programmatic, operational and financial components of project design and implementation (highly desirable)
- Good experience and knowledge of logistics procedures
- Leadership and interpersonal skills with a particular ability to think outside of the box
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to report and demonstrate performance improvement and efficiencies through spot-on and concise reports
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to draft clear and precise reports in responding to queries
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Very good interpersonal relationship with colleagues and supervisors
- Experience conducting cost analyses
- Experience working with vendors or other partners
