Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Health Technical Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise in the baseline and subsequent assessments of status of ASRH&R activities under the P4G project with the involvement of young people, girls and young women themselves
  • Identify emerging needs and develop/update the ASRH&R section of the P4G proposal
  • Design and implement clear work/activity plans for integrating SRHR for adolescents within the project
  • Promote education of parents and the community on SRHR of adolescents
  • Support the delivery of ASRH information and AACSE programmes for out-of-school and in-school adolescents
  • Facilitate innovative approaches including utilisation of digital platforms to enhance access to ASRH&R information
  • Support the generation and use of evidence to justify resource allocation to ASRH&R
  • Seek increased funds for the provision of ASRH&R information and services
  • Support coordination and harmonised donor funding for ASRH&R
  • Support establishment of mechanisms for mobilising additional funding
  • Support improved efficiency and accountability in resource allocation and utilisation
  • Support capacity building of staff and stakeholders at all levels in strategic leadership, health systems and service management for adolescents
  • Support the strengthening of reproductive health training and supervision system at all levels for effective provision of ASRH&R services
  • Continuously monitor provision of ASRH&R services at all levels
  • Support the establishment and strengthening of partnerships for ASRH&R service provision at all levels

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, preferably in Sexual and Reproductive Health
  • Three years, minimum, of related experience
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in related areas
  • Timely and effective delivery of project activities and other outputs
  • Commitment to safeguarding gender equality and participation
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to operate effectively under extreme circumstances including stress, high security risks and harsh living conditions
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
