Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Head of Programme and Influencing.
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture strategic alliances with peer organisations, UN agencies, donors, the civil services, youth associations, women’s movement and high-level government officials to influence policy and practice
- Responsible for the mobilisation of a steady stream of funding around €20million per annum
- Maintain a horizontal working links with six other functional heads/leads
- Work closely with peers in country offices, the regional and global hubs
- Represent Plan International Niger internally (in the organisation) and externally
Requirements
- Good knowledge and experience in policy analyses and formulation, rights-based and gender transformative programming, and influencing
- Experience working and collaborating with diverse sets of stakeholders, such as local NGOs, government officials, donor representatives, local and international staff
- Sound judgment and decision making in complex situations
- Effective communicator using clear messages drawn from Plan International’s work
- Acting as a team player, even if this results in adjustment of own priorities
- Proficiency in French and English
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Management Project or a related area (desirable)
- Eight years of relevant experience (desirable)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook (desirable)
