Plan International Nigeria (PIN) has announced a call for applications for the post of Finance Intern.
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
Responsibilities
- Prepare payment, journal and receipt vouchers, using the SAP corporate accounting software
- Work for Plan International with a strong grasp of accounting principles, employing skills in reconciling payable account schedules and effectively maintaining financial records
- Support programme staff in making payments to participants during activities
- Maintain good filing for all vouchers in their respective files to ensure easy retrieval
- Ensure all financial document is scanned and archived on PIN’s cloud
- Assist with bookkeeping activities and ensure that every accounting transaction is accurate
- Support with preparation of tax withholding, VAT, pension and other statutory deduction schedules
- Ensure all NHF cards are updated and ready on request
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or HND in Financial Accounting or a relevant professional qualification
- National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate with less than one year work experience
- Proven strong academic track record
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and standards
- Written and spoken proficiency in English
- Internet proficiency, as well as proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in the use of SAP will be a plus
- Ability to lift heavy items
- Familiarity with international donors
