Plan International is seeking to fill the role of Education in Emergency (EiE) Project Coordinator.
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
Responsibilities
- Ensure effective delivery of education project quality
- Foster gender-sensitive principles of collaboration, active participation, transparency and respect for the agency of women’s organisations
- Ensure management of education component in IDP and host community as per the proposal
- Supervise and coordinate education component in host community
- Liaise with government offices, bureaus, UN agencies, NGOs and other civic organisations operating in the Woreda
- Comply with organisational and statutory policies and laws on HR legality matters and also on matters relating to protection of children and child rights, in particular, in emergencies and disasters
- Ensure high quality activity management and maximise safety and well-being of all inhabitants especially children
- Ensure effective collaboration and support of procurement, logistics, and other required facilities, including water, sanitation, and health, and ensure security
Requirements
- B.E./BA degree in Education, Community Development, Psychology, Social Sciences
- Three years, minimum, of experience implementing EiE projects
- Two years, minimum, of successful assignments in a complex IDP emergency situation
- Experience in mobilising as well as facilitating training to teachers
- Knowledge and practical experience in EiE as per the INEE minimum standards
- Knowledge and experience in formal and non-formal education
