Plan International is seeking to fill the role of Child Protection in Emergencies (CPE) Project Coordinator.
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor project implementation through regular visits, meetings with community and other stakeholders and make informed decisions as necessary
  • Manage the carrying out of baseline studies and the implementation of project review findings and establish strategic priorities for programme changes based on the findings
  • Ensure the collection, storing and management and analysis of good data to inform decision making
  • Coordinate all actions with partners, and integrate project objectives/activities with the district government, stakeholders
  • Lead project staff, build capacity of staff and communities through trainings, identify gaps in performance, and ensure good performance
  • Guide and lead the project team in monitoring and checking of budget and expenditure
  • Prepare all monthly, quarterly and annual project work plans and reports required by Plan International Mozambique and the donor and by other project stakeholders and beneficiaries as appropriate
  • Document experiences and lessons learnt through participatory approaches and share with stakeholders and civil society
  • Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for child protection and gender equality and inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant implementation standards and guidelines as applicable 

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline
  • Five years, minimum, of child protection in emergencies experience
  • Knowledge and experience in project management cycle
  • Strong experience in report writing
  • Familiarity with national policies and programmes in emergencies, gender-based violence, child protection and WASH
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively for execution with limited resources
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Programme management skills with excellent grasp of programming concepts
  • Analytical skills
  • Communication skills
  • High level advocacy skills
  • Facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in using relevant computer applications
