Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Construction Coordinator.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
- Develop bill of quantity (BoQ) for construction works to include renovation of classroom latrines, temporary learning spaces, child friendly spaces and women and girls’ safe spaces
- Develop designs for proposed construction works, ensuring quality construction standards and utilisation of proper construction techniques
- Provide technical support to the supply chain team as it relates to selection of contractors for construction works
- Interface and coordinate with government stakeholders, line ministries and agencies across works, education, health, women affairs and social development
- Supervise contractors, ensuring construction work complies with building and safety regulations and executed according to agreed specifications and timelines
- Develop and maintain robust information management system including geo-tagging of the construction sites
- Support the preparation of reports for domestic and international consumption
- Lead the development and documentation of lessons learnt, ensuring continuous improvement and utilisation in upcoming construction works
- Monitor and report to the ERM, DERM, project manager or supply chain focal point as applicable
- Provide timely responses concerning queries linked with relevant projects or programmes
- Work with other members of the programme unit to ensure effective and efficient programme delivery
- Issue on behalf of Plan International a certificate of completion based on satisfactory quality checks and contractual conditions of performance
- Define clear responsibilities and deliverable requirements including overall team management for direct reports
- Perform any other programme and organisational related duties as specified by supervisor
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology and Architecture, or a related field
- Three years, minimum, of experience in construction work, preferably in northeast Nigeria
- Possess significant experience working in emergency and fragile settings
- Experience providing services to children at risk and victims of abuse, exploitation and violence
- Strong ability to work independently, organise work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritise work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Community mobilisation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
- Excellent command of English and Hausa languages
