Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Control and Compliance Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Plan International Germany controlling officer with the monitoring of the project planning and the tracking of financial performance measurement indicators
  • Consolidate monthly expenditure trackers
  • Help in preparing the financial monitoring templates and reaching out to the country offices for timely delivery
  • Bring in constructive ideas to improve the financial monitoring and reporting process
  • Support Plan International Germany controlling officer with ad hoc analyses
  • Support the preparation of financial reports by liaising with the three countries and report to the Plan International Germany controlling office
  • Ensure the accuracy of invoice documentation and the project invoice lists
  • Provide technical assistance in terms of accounting (use of SAP/the ERP system) to the Plan International Germany controlling officer
  • Act as intermediary between the Plan International Germany controlling officer and country office financial officers
  • Provide quality assurance on information reported in SAP/the ERP system by countries
  • Navigate in SAP/the ERP system and assess spending progress for countries
  • Engage with three country offices proactively when financial reports are due or when expenditures are delayed

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting
  • Three years, minimum, of experience in donor grants administration or project controlling
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent and demonstrable experience in grant and financial management
  • Accurate and detail-oriented work
  • Ability to produce clean and informative reporting
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills including good listening skills, proactive communication on issues and transparency
  • Capacity to build and maintain relationships and to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Plan International’s policy environment
