Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Account Officer.

Responsibilities
- Ensure all intercompany account items are cleared before period closure
- Ensure all staff advances are liquidated in SAP before period closure
- Prepare a separate advance liquidation report for all GF staff by the tenth of the month
- Prepare bank reconciliation by the third of the month and ensure comments are made on all outstanding issues
- Review all field/country office petty cash reports before replenishment
- Make field payment and ensure all payments are made according to the checklist and liquidation submitted on time
- Ensure to record monthly bank charges and other outstanding items in the bank reconciliation before every month-end closure
- Ensure all Operating cost is recovered by the end of the month
- Ensure all cost recovery on salary are processed by the end of every month
- Ensure all GF national/international staff salary paid from Plan International main account is refunded before the end of the month
- Ensure to follow the CNO cost recovery procedure when recording ICR in the system
- Ensure all documents requested by LFA are provided on time and documents refiled at the end
- Ensure all internal audit needs are addressed and all documents refiled at the end of the process
- Coordinate all external audit activities and ensure all information requested is provided on time
- Keep the project finance manager informed of any initiative or difficulties relating to the job’s responsibilities
- Carry out other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Three years, minimum, of relevant experience in a similar position in a comparable organisation
- Good knowledge of local accounting practices, standards, procedures and regulations
- Ability to solve problems independently
- Ability to handle complex and wide range of challenges
- Good knowledge of accounting software as well as Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
- Fluency in written and oral English
