Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Accountability for Affected Population (AAP) Coordinator.

Responsibilities
- Support the UNICEF settlements with all aspects of designing, planning, and implementing the AAP strategy – including client responsiveness guidelines, global commitments on accountability to affected population and participation and agreed standards
- Support the coordination and improvement of the various mechanisms
- Train staff and volunteers in AAP principles and practices
- Lead on coordination and liaison with programme, MEAL, and support unit staff to ensure successful implementation and compliance with the AAP strategy and mechanisms
- Support the MEAL team in conducting feedback sessions, FGDs, and surveys to solicit for client’s feedback
- Ensure client feedback data and its analysis is available for the organisation and UNICEF-RRM use, while considering the confidentiality and clients’ protection
- Ensure regular flow of client feedback data from collection to use, analyse and interpret the data to help programme management in taking informed decisions
- Help the programmes in assessing the performance against AAP commitments
- Assist to produce and submit high quality reports on AAP within the agreed timelines, clearly demonstrating trends and key lessons learnt
- Lead documentation and sharing of knowledge and emerging practices on AAP internally and externally with the wider stakeholder audience
- Participate in programme coordination meeting and progress against activities and budget
- Periodically collect related project and relevant information about other organisations working within the target districts to gain institutional knowledge of the environment
- Seek opportunities for different kinds of partnership for enhanced quality project implementation
- Provide technical assistance and build the capacities of WASHCOs, clubs and local partners in project management
- Coordinate the designing/development of emergency response projects and ensure projects are effectively implemented, monitored/reviewed, evaluated and progress and final reports timely compiled and shared with WASH coordinator and Assosa PA for review and then submit to donor
- Ensure adequate monitoring, reporting and acquittal of emergency response activities in accordance with donor regulations, country and national office requests, international humanitarian accountability frameworks and relevant SPHERE standards
- Ensure all project activities are conducted in accordance with the agreed work plans and proposals
- Assist and advise the WASH coordinator and WASH manager and ERM lead with securing donor funding for emergency projects
- Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with other NGOs, UN agencies, local government, bilateral and multilateral donors, and other principle stakeholders
- Ensure that the donor and government reporting is done and submitted on time in accordance with their reporting template and within their reporting schedule
- Coordinate and support local level assessments, surveys and other studies and assist in proposal development
- Support pragmatic project design and proposal for institutional and public funding
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Assistance, Social Work, Human Rights, International Law, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Education or a related field
- Postgraduate degree (preferred)
- Five years, minimum, of experience working in humanitarian aid environment
- Extensive expertise in delivering accountability mechanisms, as well as capacity to support effective communication with communities
- Ability to package and communicate complex topics through written reports and presentations
- Excellent facilitation skills, and strong understanding of how to collect feedback safely and accurately from all members of a community regardless of their age, gender, or other diversity factors
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, proven self-initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills and competence in using Word, Excel (data analysis and visualization), and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of child rights programming
- Good knowledge of field level realities of humanitarian NGO work
- Fluency in English language
- Knowledge of local language (desirable)
