Plan International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Gender Equality Project Specialist.
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
Responsibilities
- Seek and promote innovative ideas and approach to ensure quality of work
- Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s code of conduct, ensuring concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures
- Ensure the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies
- Ensure Plan International’s global policies for safeguarding children and young people and gender equality and inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work
- Ensure Plan International Ethiopia contributes to the organisation’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure relevant reporting and data are submitted
Requirements
- Education at degree level or equivalent vocational study in Gender Studies, Disability Studies, or a related field
- Significant practical experience of project leadership and/or policy development in the sector (or closely related sectors)
- Full membership of relevant professional body
- Experience and/or strong professional links
- Specialist expertise in either inclusion or social and gender norm change
