Pathfinder International is seeking to fill the role of Deputy Chief of Party.

The health organisation, with locally led, community-driven programmes, supports women to make their own reproductive health decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide managerial and technical support to the chief of party, including leading the development of strategies, creating work plans, development of deliverables, compliance, and reporting according to USAID requirements
  • Provide technical guidance/assistance to project staff and partners for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating activities for the accomplishment of project objectives
  • Oversee financial and administrative functions of the project and provide capacity building
  • Oversee the monitoring of project performance to ensure project objectives are achieved or exceeded
  • Initiate and nurture partnerships with new and existing stakeholders including the private sector
  • Manage close collaborative relationships and engagement with national level government stakeholders
  • Represent the project at internal and external technical meetings and conferences
  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership to subcontractors, local teams, and local partners

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Eight years, minimum, of senior-level experience implementing USAID-funded programmes related to the project
  • Experience interacting/collaborating with government agencies, Ethiopian government and counterparts, international donor agencies, private sector, civil society, and community-based organisations
  • Experience implementing community engagement and accountability approaches
  • Knowledge of and experience with USAID’s funding policies, rules and regulations
