Palladium is seeking to fill the role of Investment Advisor.

Palladium is a child-safe organisation that works with foundations, investors, governments, corporations, communities and civil society to formulate strategies and implement solutions that generate lasting social, environmental and financial benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Ethiopia Investment Commission (EIC) staff in reviewing investment projects, track investor interest and follow up post investment
  • Support EIC staff to review and ensure implementation of the EIC strategic plan
  • Develop, implement and follow up recommendations from investors, private and public sector stakeholders on opportunities to improve Ethiopia’s investment climate
  • Support in the development of linkages with private sector partners in the country, e.g., producers, traders and associations, that will act as investment catalysts within priority sectors identified by the government
  • Develop programme strategies for MS4G, and build and enhance existing relationships with the GoE and the private sector
  • Develop an assessment of existing private sector climate and complete a mapping of actors, including U.S. businesses
  • Assess and pursue market-based approaches to address systemic issues
  • Assist EIC in addressing binding constraints to economic growth

Requirements

  • Significant relevant professional experience in financing private sector projects, including hands-on experience in debt and/or equity transactions, managing due diligence, financial modeling, negotiating term sheets and finance documentation and related project/corporate finance activities
  • Deep knowledge of finance, private enterprise, investment, trade, and digital economy in Ethiopia
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and local language(s)
  • Knowledge of USAID programming, approaches, and policy, including USAID programme cycle policy, terminology, processes, and tools
