The One Acre Fund (OAF) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the role of Innovations Associate.
One Acre Fund, founded in 2006, supplies one million smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly productive.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to identify high impact products for the organisation’s partners to sell to a growing network of agroforestry farmers
- Lead research and engagement to evaluate new product options and manage early-stage trials to test demand and impact
- Ensure field staff and managers are trained and the organisation’s evaluation team has the necessary context to confirm impact
- Improve OAF’s programmes and develop new ones to potentially create revenue and to make work more cost efficient
- Work with a diverse set of people to gather input and coordinate rollout
- Work with others to set department-level goals, then guide team to achieve these through clear expectations, support and coaching
- Ensure development of plans and opportunities for growth
- Manage a modest budget
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Five years, minimum, of experience in a dynamic and creative organisation(s)
- Experience managing people and projects in a systematic way
- Experience working with rural development programmes
- Experience comparing new opportunities quantitatively
- Agroforestry, forestry, carbon finance, coffee or fruit tree background will be a a plus
- Fluency in English and Amharic
