The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking to fill the role of Regional ICT Officer.
NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Implement NRC’s ICT policies and guidelines at country and office levels
- Ensure information security for all NRC systems in line with GDPR regulations
- Ensure network access to privileges, applications, data storage, and regular backups are configured and maintained
- Schedule computer-related services, maintenance and licence renewals
- Ensure installation and maintenance of protection services (anti-viruses and firewalls)
- Plan network upgrades, expansions and replacements
- Provide ICT support and trainings to staff within the region
- Participate in the procurement processes of ICT equipment
- Support and contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems
- Ensure analysis and visualisation of data as required
- Provide general ICT support to the regional office and Kenya country office
- Participate in the development, implementation and support of in-house web-based NRC digital systems
- Liaise with country office to identify opportunities for digital innovations, especially in monitoring and evaluation
- Keep abreast with emerging trends by participating in innovation workshops/seminars and brief the RO teams accordingly
- Ensure the design, development and maintenance of dashboards
- Support dashboard users, including training on use and development of Microsoft Power BI dashboards
- Ensure management and troubleshooting of regional online data reporting system
- Carry out any other tasks as shall be assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- Three years, minimum, of experience in the ICT field, including significant experience in using Microsoft PowerBI
- Very good working knowledge of PHP
- Proven record in development of web-based systems in PHP
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycle and implementation methods
- Competence in relational database management systems
- Experience in internal customer service and training of end users
- Knowledge of other scripting languages (desirable)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (desirable)
- Experience in building and supporting mobile apps will be an added advantage
- Certification in ITIL V3 and above will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of mobile data collection and statistical analysis tools is an added advantage
- Monitoring and evaluation experience (desirable)
