Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines and standards
  • Ensure compliance with CC strategy, tools, handbooks, guidelines and standards
  • Provide support in data quality control and in reports
  • Provide technical support and capacity building towards project staff
  • Monitor and evaluate specific technical responsibility for implementation of data collection, management activities in relation to NRC projects
  • Support programme team in project cycle management processes including reporting, data collection, needs assessments and project reviews as may be required
  • Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further programme development options
  • Assist in development and administration of monitoring and evaluation and programme data management system
  • Support the implementation of appropriate SOPs for monitoring and evaluation in line with NRC procedures including confidentiality and data protection
  • Develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation databases to store, analyse and present relevant information
  • Support process and analyse routine monitoring and evaluation data captured by NRC and partner staff
  • Support in data quality checks and in reporting internally and externally
Requirements
  • University degree in Statistics, Economics, IT, or a related field
  • Three years, minimum, of experience relevant to data management, statistics, and analysis
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience of working with Microsoft Access
  • Experience in using SPSS, STATA, Epi Info and R (desirable)
  • Good understanding of data and information needs for programme management and decision making
  • Strong data interpretation skills, report writing, and data presentation
  • Experience in providing training and capacity building to staff
  • Proficiency in English is essential
