Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Emergency Response Manager.

NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, procedures and SOPs/guidelines;
  • Overall oversight, strategic development, and operational management of emergency response interventions across the country office
  • Ensure that emergency responses are delivered in collaboration with and through local and national organisations
  • Develop robust emergency setups based on appropriate needs analysis with an integrated programme approach
  • Develop emergency response strategies and technical SOPs/guidelines
  • Develop and manage funding proposals, project budgets and donor reports
  • Implement emergency response projects (including master support budget and coordinating input for donor proposals and reports, and resources deployment) in compliance with contractual commitments
  • Main focal point for development of emergency preparedness planning (EPP) and minimum preparedness actions within the country operation
  • Provide emergency-specific input on CC strategies, country strategy, and plan of action

Requirements 

  • Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Four years, minimum, of relevant experience in programme development, management, and fundraising in the humanitarian sector
  • Knowledge and skills in cash-based programming and market analysis
  • Emergency response expertise
  • Good understanding of donor rules and regulations
  • Proven skills and experience in report and proposal development and working with multiple donors
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
