The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is seeking to fill the role of National Project Coordinator, Digital Economy.

The mission of the ILO is to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the country programme manager, assess policy frameworks, digital labour market trends and employment priorities in Egypt for Egyptian youths and refugees to inform and design project interventions
  • Strengthen collaboration with partners and digital economy platforms in Egypt
  • Identify entry points and the implementation of interventions while building synergies with other existing initiatives in Egypt with particular focus on the most marginalised groups
  • Support effective implementation of the programme through the provision of inputs, the delivery of outputs, monitoring and evaluation of activities, and communicating results
  • Support the programme and programme manager to develop programme’s workplans, presentations, and information databases
  • Cover programme activities, prepare periodic and ad hoc reports on the implementation status, and coordinate with concerned ILO offices, departments and programmes
  • Support the programme manager in the management of funds/budgets allocated to the programme in accordance with ILO rules and financial and procurement regulations
  • Support the coordination of project implementation including through discussions with project implementing partners and field visits
  • Periodically report, monitor and facilitate the evaluation of all project components according to the project’s document and workplan
  • Prepare technical progress reports and ad hoc reports on the status of project planning and implementation for submission to the ILO and the donor

Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Political Science, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field
  • Three years of management experience in a socioeconomic area
  • Particular experience in handling youth employment issues will be a plus
  • Experience with youth employment programmes and projects and/or development projects focused on job creation in the digital economy will be a plus
  • Work experience with the ILO or other UN agencies/development partner organisations will be a plus
  • Excellent command of English and good working knowledge of Arabic (spoken and written)
