The University of Gondar is providing scholarships for master’s degree programmes for students with disabilities through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme. A total of 160 graduate scholarships will be awarded over the next eight years, beginning from 2020/21.

The programme is designed to help scholars acquire transformational and leadership skills and demonstrate high professional and scholarly competencies to effectively influence global, regional, national and local socioeconomic development trends.

Benefits

• The scholarship is comprehensive and covers the costs of tuition, accommodation/boarding, stipend and additional programme-related expenses as well as support

Eligibility

• International applicants who earned their bachelor’s degree in the past five years in South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti and Eritrea (Eritrean migrants, in Ethiopia) at the time of application
• Candidates who intend to be full-time graduate students of Physiotherapy, Nursing, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Public Health, Development and Environmental Management,  Optometry or Gender and Development Studies at the University of Gondar
• Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of applicants’ demonstrated academic ability, leadership potential, socioeconomic need and disability
