The University of Gondar is providing scholarships for master’s degree programmes for students with disabilities through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme. A total of 160 graduate scholarships will be awarded over the next eight years, beginning from 2020/21.
The programme is designed to help scholars acquire transformational and leadership skills and demonstrate high professional and scholarly competencies to effectively influence global, regional, national and local socioeconomic development trends.

- The scholarship is comprehensive and covers the costs of tuition, accommodation/boarding, stipend and additional programme-related expenses as well as support
Eligibility
- International applicants who earned their bachelor’s degree in the past five years in South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti and Eritrea (Eritrean migrants, in Ethiopia) at the time of application
- Candidates who intend to be full-time graduate students of Physiotherapy, Nursing, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Public Health, Development and Environmental Management, Optometry or Gender and Development Studies at the University of Gondar
- Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of applicants’ demonstrated academic ability, leadership potential, socioeconomic need and disability
