The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking to fill the position of Urban Context Analysis Consultant.
IRC is a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development non-governmental organisation.
Responsibilities
- Desk review of essential documents
- Ensure informed consent is provided for all interviews, focus group discussions and photographs
- Specifically have briefing and debriefing meetings with the IRC at the commencement, mid-point, and conclusion of methodological implementation
- Provide inception meeting report that will include training/briefing on methodology, study report outline and assessment data collection tools, workplan and budget
- Draft report and professionally edit final report covering skills/labour assessment and legal framework summary findings
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Urban Planning, or a related field
- Ten years, minimum, of experience conducting context, political economy, conflict or urban context analyses
- Familiarity with the livelihoods, humanitarian, international development actors/sectors, and city government structure in Kenya with an emphasis on Nairobi
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong oral and written communications skills
