International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking to fill the role of Project Coordinator.

The IRC is a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development non-governmental organisation. It responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall coordination of the implementation of the ECHO project
  • Ensure the implementation and systematic use of key steering and management tools of the project
  • Ensure good synergy and coherence of implementation among the consortium members organisations
  • Ensure full compliance with all donors, IRC and other fiduciary rules
  • In collaboration with IRC operations and finance departments, ensure that the project’s financial management, procurement, administration, human resources, and logistics are in compliance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Maintain an effective project monitoring, evaluation, planning and learning system
  • Ensure the timely production and submission of project reports of the required quality with full involvement of all consortium members
  • Systematically and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the team
  • Promptly report problems or incidents to the management team and, as needed, liaise with community leaders and other external parties to maintain/improve the safety environment of the IRC programs
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor to enable and develop IRC programmes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development, Project Management, or a relevant field
  • Seven years, minimum, of professional experience at a senior level in the humanitarian or development field
  • Experience in managing programming in complex emergencies as well as the ability to manage remote teams
  • Solid experience in team management
    Strong professional experience in consortium project management
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic and operational planning skills, with demonstrated budget management ability
  • Willingness to travel to the field and occasionally stay overnight at field sites in rustic conditions and with varying levels of deprivation
  • Good knowledge of regulatory, contractual, legal and financial compliance requirements associated with international donor funding
  • Fluency in French and English is an asset
