Location: Maiduguri and Borno, Nigeria
International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking to fill the role of Environmental Health Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
IRC has a large operational presence in northeast Nigeria, with offices in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, and a main office located in the country’s capital, Abuja.
Responsibilities
- Participate in programme/project design especially in developing WASH logframes
- Develop and continuously update WASH project monitoring and evaluation, impact measurement tools and systems on timely fashion
- Make sure all the projects in the WASH has tested monitoring tools that capture both programme activity and indicators progresses
- Take part in diagnostic studies, evaluations and surveys
- Organise periodical ongoing WASH level data review, reflective practice, evaluation and progress monitoring events by involving communities and local partners
- Organise WASH panel monitoring and/or similar monitoring and evaluation events to ensure accountability
- With support from the monitoring and evaluation manager, WASH manager(s) and coordinator, establish and maintain project level information management system
- Contribute to designing WASH strategy to collect field level information required by IRC, donors and/or stakeholders
- Proactively ensure networking and sharing of lessons from the WASH core programme with strategic partners and other stakeholders including government
- Coordinating synergy and cross-learning among different projects
Requirements
- Degree in any related field
- Excellent computer skills are required (particularly advanced Microsoft Excel, Access and Word)
- Two years, minimum, of experience working in monitoring and evaluation preferred
- Strong data collection, analysis, and report writing skills
- Ability to work independently, think analytically and take initiative in solving problems
- Ability to communicate technical issues effectively
- Familiarity with logframe analysis and monitoring and evaluation plan
- Experience in conducting assessment
