The International Oranisation for Migration (IOM) has opened applications for the role of IOM Programme Support Coordinator.

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organisation in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Programme Support Unit (PSU), including supervising and providing guidance to PSU staff in the reporting, the development of concept notes or proposals, monitoring and evaluation, and communications and public information
  • Coordinate and provide substantive support for fundraising efforts, including proactive donor liaison and relationship building, overseeing mapping, and tracking of donors to identify new funding opportunities, and the development of new programmes and projects in coordination with heads of units
  • Support the chief of mission and heads of units on interagency coordination, support and
    ensure coordination of the UN network on migration to establish IOM’s strong leadership role in the area of migration in coordination with the resident coordinator’s office and partner agencies
  • Act as the liaison and policy focal point and respond to and/or coordinate inputs for
    information requests from headquarters, the regional office, other IOM missions and external partners
  • Support the resource management unit to coordinate with project managers with donor
    contract management through guiding and coordinating the administrative and budgetary aspects of new and ongoing projects
  • Provide substantive support to head of units and programmme/project managers where
    needed on consolidating information and inputs for requests managed
  • Support the organisation’s project management actions by preparing and reviewing project funding submissions, proposals, and appeals, as well as supporting units and resources management with submission of general agreements, memorandum of understanding, letter of agreements, and other types of contracts, when necessary
  • Assist in ensuring on-time and accurate planning, organisation and implementation of the reporting and monitoring and evaluation work plans by programmme/project managers, including updating the project, reporting and contract schedules for all IOM Tunisia projects
  • Prepare policy briefings in relation to liaison functions for the government of
    Tunisia, senior partners, visiting delegations and donors, liaising with respective programme managers for related organisational events and partner United Nations country team (UNCT) organisations
  • Strengthen the development of knowledge base within the mission
  • Coordinate and oversee the development and dissemination of communications, reports,
    information products (infographics, info sheets etc) and various media resources based on key messages and concerns in the context of Tunisia
  • Revise and oversee the strategic direction and implementation of the mission’s external
    communication strategy, including the utilisation of social media communication tools
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Political Science/Social Sciences, Migration, International Relations, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or
  • University degree in any of the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects and providing policy support
  • Demonstrated experience in donor liaison
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national/international institutions, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
  • In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the organisation
  • Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming
  • Fluency in English, French, or Spanish
