Interpeace is seeking to fill the role of Programme Advisor.
Interpeace is an international peacebuilding organisation that builds the capacity of societies to manage conflicts on their own in a sustainable and non-violent manner.
Responsibilities
- Build the Kenya programme portfolio through the production of funding proposals for the programme
- Help the Kenya programme to innovate into new thematic areas, including, but not limited to, peace responsiveness, climate change, mental health and psycho-social support (MHPSS)
- Lead and coordinate Interpeace’s Kenya research products
- In coordination with the programme manager, build the capacity of field teams to do research, participate in research processes, lead the procurement of research services, help in the production of research outputs, and participate in the validation and dissemination of research
- Help the programme in project and strategy design, and improve monitoring frameworks, ensuring that the programme collects strong evidence
Requirements
- Advanced or a master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Development, Management, or a related field
- 15 years of relevant experience in peacebuilding, political and/or developmental work with increasing management responsibility
- Five years of relevant field experience (desirable)
- Experience working in Kenya and in the region is essential
- Ability to demonstrate record of business development history in recent work
- Demonstrated effectiveness and substantial experience with short- and long-term planning; financial, personnel and programme management in cross-cultural, international organisations
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution/peacebuilding, advocacy, partnership management, proposal writing and programme management
- Very strong, proven track record in conflict analysis and proposal development – strong writing and analytical skills are essential
- Proven record of recently published research work
