ImpactHer Africa is seeking to fill the position of Grants Specialist.
ImpactHER is an impact-driven nonprofit that seeks to empower African female entrepreneurs by bridging the gender business financing gap to help them realise their full economic potential.
Responsibilities
- Source, identify, and apply for grants or other funding opportunities for the organisation
- Write programme funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services to beneficiaries
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the donor organisation
- Research relevant projects, programmes, documents, and topics as the need arises
- Organise programmes and activities according to the mission and goals of the organisation
- Develop new programmes to support the strategic direction of the organisation
- Develop a budget and operating plan for the organisation’s programmes
- Manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities
- Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved
- Write accurate and timely programme reports based on stakeholders’ expectations throughout its life cycle
- Meet with stakeholders for ease of communication and transparency regarding projects and decisions on services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Three years, minimum, of experience in grant writing, fundraising, and programme management
- Proven experience in securing grants from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and similar grant-funding agencies
- Strong financial background
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Strong PowerPoint and design skills
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data
- Proven ability to prepare and manage a budget
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication
