The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of National Project Coordinator
The mission of the ILO is to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Support the chief technical advisor (CTA) to ensure effective implementation of the project components through timely provision of inputs, timely and efficient delivery of outputs, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the project activities in conformity with ILO policies and programme strategies
- Support the preparation and presentation of workplans, periodic narrative progress reports, budget revisions and expenditure status reports
- Guide and supervise the work of the junior and support staff under the project and ensure effective coordination and collaboration among the various project components under the supervision of the CTA
- Contribute to regular review of progress towards achieving objectives, monitoring of project interventions, evaluations, assessments and documentation of impact
- Guide the national counterpart in ensuring objectives, outputs, budgets and time frames maintain the monitoring and evaluation framework of the project
- Prepare technical reports and ensure quality assurance in collaboration with technical consultant for all technical products of the project
- Ensure adequate project reporting to the donor and to ILO supervisory functions, including the preparation of project progress reports, according to the donor agreement, and other reports, ensuring clarity, consistency and completeness of the information produced in coordination with the monitoring and evaluation officer
- Support the CTA to plan, organise and facilitate consultative meetings, seminars and workshops
- Draft speeches and address meetings on behalf of the CTA
- Draft request for proposals, implementation agreement, terms of reference for service providers, consultants, and implementing partners; coordinate their activities and ensure timely and high quality delivery of outputs
Requirements
- University degree in Economics, Political Science, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field
- Three years, minimum, of management experience in a socio-economic domain
- Experience in handling issues tied to youth employment is a considerable asset
- Skills development and entrepreneurship experience
- Familiarity and previous work experience with the ILO or other UN agencies/development partner organisation is a plus
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and good knowledge of Arabic
