The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Economic Security (EcoSec) Generalist.
ICRC works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence.
Responsibilities
- Design or adjust data-collection tools
- Collect data using data-collection tools and devices
- Enter data into and maintain the survey database and the EcoSec Programme Management Tool (EPMT)
- Perform basic qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Describe results and produce data visualisation
- Contribute to identifying response options by analysing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT)
- Contribute to designing a suitable method for registering beneficiaries
- Contribute to developing methods, plans, implementation, logistics and reporting for assistance distributions
- Carry out on-site assistance distributions
- Contribute to the designing and implementation of livelihood programmes (cash for livelihoods, agricultural programme support, cash for work, microeconomic initiative projects and structural support)
- Contribute to analysing the security, socioeconomic, cultural and political environment as it relates to the ICRC
- Contribute to internal reporting
- Translate documents for internal use and interpret them upon request
- Contribute to organising and providing capacity-building activities
Requirements
- University degree in Development Studies, Economics, Agriculture or a related field
- Four years of work experience in a similar field
- Fluency in written and spoken English and knowledge of the local language(s) – Hausa
- Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
