The International Brain Research Organisation Middle East and North Africa (IBRO-MENA) Exchange Fellowship Programme advances neuroscience research and support capacity building in the Middle East and the North African region.

This is achieved through the promotion and facilitation of collaborations, scientific exchange, transfer of know-how and sharing of resources among institutions and scientists.

The programme covers visits of a minimum of six-week duration to institutions in the Middle East and North Africa by researchers living and working within the regions for the purpose of participating in collaborative work, performing specific experiments or to learn and transfer specific technical expertise to their home countries.

Benefits 

  • Maximum funding of $2,000

Eligibility

  • PhD/MD students and young postdoctoral fellows
  • 35 years of age or less
  • Open to applicants from North Africa and the Middle East
  • A description of the purpose of the visit and proposed project, including description of the work to be performed, rational for selecting the host lab, expected outcomes, and impact on the research at the home institution
  • A letter of acceptance by the host laboratory/institution is mandatory
