Applications are now open for the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) Global Programme 2021.
The programme is focused on bringing more student developers into open source software development; as students work with an open-source organisation on a ten-week programming project during their break from school.
Since its inception in 2005, the programme is understood to have brought together over 16,000 student participants and 13,000 mentors from over 118 countries worldwide.

Eligibility
- Open to students who are 18 years old and older and enrolled in a post-secondary academic programme
- Applicants must be eligible to work in their countries of residence during duration of programme
- Applicant must be a resident of a country not currently embargoed by the United States of America
