Global Communities is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Deputy Chief of Party.

The mission of Global Communities is to create long-lasting, positive and community-led change that improves the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing overall leadership, management, strategic vision, and strong technical support in the implementation of project
  • Assist the chief of party in providing oversight of technical staff, ensuring project components are results-oriented, meeting their targets with high-quality deliverables on time within budget
  • Manage operational aspects of project including budgeting and financial monitoring
  • Manage daily project operations, overseeing quality of monitoring and evaluation and ensuring compliance with Global Communities’ policies and procedures, and USAID rules and regulations
  • Contribute to development of all required project reports to USAID
  • Ensure continuation of all project activities in the absence of the chief of party

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in International Development, Government, Social Sciences, or in a closely related field strongly preferred
  • Five years, minimum, of progressively responsible experience in managing a team and project components on donor-funded projects
  • Experience with USAID programmes of similar size and scope
  • Experience in maintaining relationships with local institutions, USAID, donor organisations, and government counterparts
  • Experience in developing project and financial reports in accordance with donor guidelines
  • Regional experience
  • Highly developed leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong budgeting and financial oversight skill
  • Experience in Northern Ghana preferred
