Global Communities is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Chief of Party.
Global Communities is an international non-profit organisation that works with communities worldwide to bring about sustainable changes that improve the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable persons.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of local professional staff in the implementation of project activities
- Ensure that programme goals and objectives are achieved on time and within budget
- Serve as the principal liaison with USAID, representatives of Kenyan government, and staff members at Global Communities headquarters
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Kenya subcontracted NGO partners, civil society organisations, local governments, and the private sector to ensure sound implementation of activities funded by USAID
- Oversee monitoring and evaluation and ensure that interventions accurately and professionally reflect project objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Peace Studies, Conflict Resolution, International Development, International Law, Counter-terrorism, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a related field
- Ten years, minimum, of demonstrated experience managing complex international development projects, with at least four of those years working in Kenya or countries similar to Kenya
- USAID experience and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations
- Senior leadership experience on a USAID programme strongly preferred
- Strong experience building relationships with relevant GoK ministries and institutions
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with civil society organisations to identify community needs and empower local, sustainable CVE networks to take action to address violent extremism
- Experience managing donor-funded programmes of similar size and complexity
- Fluency in English
- Nationality of Kenya
