Girl Rising has opened applications for the 2022 Future Rising Fellowship programme.
The Future Rising Fellowship is a year-long, virtual programme designed to tell stories at the intersection of climate change, environmental justice and gender equity.
The 2022 Future Rising Fellowship programme seeks to support young leaders who are working on food and water security with a gender equity lens, or who are telling the stories of girls or women working to secure access to adequate food and water through advocacy, community organising or activism or through sustainable practices like crop rotation, agroforestry, regenerative farming, sustainable fishing and nature-based solutions, among others.
Benefits
- Each fellow will receive a stipend of $5,000 and can apply for a small additional grant for direct project expenses and materials
Eligibility
- Open to young changemakers, between the ages of 17 and 24, from all over the world
- Applicant should be committed, creative, collaborative and motivated
- Applicant should be a storyteller who is passionate about gender equity and climate justice or a climate activist/conservationist/educator/community organiser with a story to tell about girls’ education, gender equity and climate justice
- Applicant should be working on a project that harnesses the power of educated girls and women to build climate resilience in a community or telling a story about empowered girls and women leading efforts to build sustainability and resilience where they live
- Applicant should be able to commit to the fellowship’s schedule
- Have access to the internet in order to attend regular virtual convenings
