The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Chief of Party.

FHI 360 delivers sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Implement project oversight
  • Manage the annual workplan and budgeting process
  • Create/maintain an effective project management team
  • Oversee an effective monitoring and evaluation system
  • Coordinate activities and sub-grantees to achieve results
  • Ensure an integrated vision across components and actors, with a focus on achieving the results defined in contract
  • Identify issues and risks related to programme implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate programme adjustments
  • Supervise activity implementation and ensure activities meet stated goals and reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Administration, International Development, or a related field from an accredited university (master’s degree is highly preferred)
  • 11 years, minimum, of experience in similar education intervention activities, and experience managing complex international donor-funded development activities in challenging environments
  • Strong knowledge of, and commitment to, gender and social equity issues in education
  • Relevant management, supervisory, technical experience, working with programmes that are of a similar scope and scale
  • Demonstrated leadership, effective organisational development, partnership-building, managerial, teambuilding and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments, across different cultures, and manage diverse teams to deliver impact within agreed timelines across a broad geographic area
  • Proven ability to coordinate with government stakeholders, as well as non-governmental organisations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of United States government rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to project and programme compliance and reporting
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in Portuguese preferred
