The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Programmes Officer.
FHI 360 works towards delivering sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the project director in assuring effective planning, implementation and management of assigned projects in FHI 360 Nigeria
  • Assist the project director in strengthening systems for reporting on programme progress against stated objectives and monitoring and evaluation frameworks according to FHI 360 and the respective donor guidelines
  • Assist the project director in the development of programme strategies, subproject documents, work plans and budgets
  • Assist the project director in the provision of programmatic assistance to local FHI 360 partners in implementing their sub agreements
  • Assist the project director in capacity building efforts aimed at local implementing agencies
  • Remain informed on current programmes and research in the health and development field
  • Improve skills by working closely with international prevention specialists
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Behavioural Sciences, or equivalent, with five years, minimum, of relevant experience with international development programmes
  • Or master’s degree in a relevant field with three years, minimum, of experience with international development programmes
  • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage
  • Knowledge of health and development programming in a developing country.
  • Basic accounting and financial management skills
  • Working knowledge of major donor policies as well as international not-for-profit organisations
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infection
  • Proven ability to coordinate a multisectorial development project
  • Ability to organise systems to monitor administrative and implementation results
