The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Communication Editor for the USAID-funded Integrated Management of Cultural Tourism (IMCT) Activity.

FHI 360 delivers sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Review and edit draft copy in established formats to ensure highest quality in all communications while meeting defined deadlines
  • Develop and implement communications and public relations strategies to promote and publicise the programme, including directing media outreaches, press strategies, press releases, and responding to enquiries
  • Establish and maintain digital media and community relations
  • Prepare promotional and informational materials including articles, pamphlets and presentations
  • Disseminate messaging and content across all communication platforms, including email, websites, and social media platforms
  • Assist with the writing and editing of reports and assessments produced under the programme, including proofreading text and correcting spelling, grammar and punctuation errors
  • Plan and coordinate meetings and events as needed

Requirements

  • University degree, minimum, in Communication, Social Sciences, Behavioural Change Communication, Strategic Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • One year, minimum, of writing/editing/proofing work experience, preferably within a non-governmental organisation (NGO) focused on public health, international development or public policy
  • English language fluency
  • Arabic is preferred, not mandatory
  • Experience in editing programmatic reports, and developing and managing social media accounts
  • Knowledge of InDesign (or similar software) to put together IMCT reports/success stories/testimonials in a professional manner (include photos/general layout of reports)
