The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of BSD Networking and Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) Lead.

FHI 360 delivers sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead gender and youth engagement interventions across all programme components
  • Propose and provide technical leadership for project activities across all objectives related to improving attitudes, knowledge, and behaviours that promote women’s social and economic participation and expanded access to quality BDS services for women and women-owned MSMEs
  • Play a leading role in the expansion of the existing Women Entrepreneurship Network (WEN), the Tiye Angels women investor network, and the Youth Entrepreneurs Network
  • Coordinate with component teams to ensure analysis of women’s issues
  • Develop approaches and provide implementation support to link and integrate capacity development initiatives with project’s cross cutting themes
  • Formulate plans for and launch other potential formal and informal networks
  • Create partnerships with other complementary small business financing programmes
  • Create public-private partnerships to support regular policy dialogue with the goal of having the public and private sectors work together to attract more investment and businesses in their governorates
  • Plan and define the scope for short-term technical assistance (STTA) resources
  • Lead the integration of gender transformative lens in creation of annual workplans and participate in the monitoring of workplans against indicators

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Gender/Women’s Studies, Social Work, Sociology, International Development, or a relevant field
  • Eight years, minimum, of professional work experience in programmatic and technical experience in gender, social work, or public health, including experience with networking on GESI projects
  • Five years, minimum, of successful experience in planning, implementation and monitoring of a GESI and network development programme
  • Experience in facilitating GESI and/or network development and cluster development training and workshop
  • Ability to serve in an advisory and liaison capacity between the public and private sector
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in developing and maintaining unbiased and professional working relationships with government officials, civil society partners, donors, and donor-funded implementers
  • Ability to manage a team of professionals, work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team on activities of similar scale
  • Proven human resource management skills and demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Good written and oral presentation skills in English and Arabic
