The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Assistant Technical Officer, Primary Health Care.
FHI 360 delivers sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of international and national staff to provide high quality patient care to an extremely vulnerable population
- Provide accurate diagnosis, treatment and management of patients in a primary health care setting
- Assess patients and refer them for specialised health care (as required)
- Participate in the delivery of quality health care to patients in a primary health care setting
- Adhere to relevant code of conduct and ethics
- Participate in outreach and community health programmes (as required)
- Provide health education to patients
- Maintain adequate and correct records of patient care including consumables and instruments utilised (if any)
- Work with technical and monitoring and evaluation teams to collect appropriate baseline data on the life of project
- Remain informed on current programmes in clinical management of integrated medical services and related developments by reviewing current literature and staying alert to any implication of such experience
- Compile and submit periodic reports
- Ensure adequate infection prevention and control standards are maintained at all times
- Participate in continuing professional development
Requirements
- MBBS or a similar degree
- One year, minimum, of relevant experience in emergency and constrained settings
- INGO experience is desirable
- Valid practicing licence
- One year, minimum, of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, NGOs and CBOs (highly desirable)
