The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Assistant Technical Officer, Primary Health Care.

FHI 360 delivers sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of international and national staff to provide high quality patient care to an extremely vulnerable population
  • Provide accurate diagnosis, treatment and management of patients in a primary health care setting
  • Assess patients and refer them for specialised health care (as required)
  • Participate in the delivery of quality health care to patients in a primary health care setting
  • Adhere to relevant code of conduct and ethics
  • Participate in outreach and community health programmes (as required)
  • Provide health education to patients
  • Maintain adequate and correct records of patient care including consumables and instruments utilised (if any)
  • Work with technical and monitoring and evaluation teams to collect appropriate baseline data on the life of project
  • Remain informed on current programmes in clinical management of integrated medical services and related developments by reviewing current literature and staying alert to any implication of such experience
  • Compile and submit periodic reports
  • Ensure adequate infection prevention and control standards are maintained at all times
  • Participate in continuing professional development

Requirements

  • MBBS or a similar degree
  • One year, minimum, of relevant experience in emergency and constrained settings
  • INGO experience is desirable
  • Valid practicing licence
  • One year, minimum, of relevant experience in a clinical setting
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, NGOs and CBOs (highly desirable)
