Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Technical Project Coordinator.

FAO is a specialised agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and management to ensure timely and effective achievement of project objectives
  • Lead the planning and implementation of project’s day-to-day activities including
  • Plan, facilitate and monitor the implementation of trainings as indicated in the project work plan
  • Facilitate country-specific-field missions to achieve the objectives of the project
  • Support the coordination role of the OH Desk to improve Covid-19 coordinated response interventions at regional and district levels
  • Support multisectoral After Action Reviews (AARs) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Covid-19 response interventions
  • Support the review, production and dissemination of risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) materials and messaging to local communities exposed to or affected by the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of project reports (progress report, terminal report) for FAO, government, donors or other relevant stakeholders upon request by ECTAD country team leader or FAO representative
  • Work closely with the designated monitoring and evaluation officer to collect data and conduct monitoring and evaluation on implemented activities
  • Participate in advocacy and policy dialogues with decision makers, and national and regional partners, for Covid-19 preparedness and response and resource mobilisation
  • Perform any other duties as required or directed

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Veterinary Science/Medicine or Health/Applied Epidemiology/Public Health or a related field
  • Five years, minimum, of progressively responsible field experience in animal or public health, preferably in programme management or other similar experiences (desirable)
  • Nationality of Tanzania
