Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has called for applications for the position of Strategy and Planning Officer
The FAO is a specialised agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of policies and procedures to achieve full inter-departmental and full regional priority group collaboration in strategic planning, results-based programming and budgeting, monitoring and reporting
- Lead and deliver tasks associated with the preparation, review and analysis of the organisation’s strategic framework, medium term plan, programme of work and budget, and programme implementation report
- Lead and deliver analyses associated with resources management and corporate budgetary performance
- Manage component of the procedures and systems for work planning and the issuance of allotments
- Contribute to the development and operation of the corporate results-based monitoring and reporting system
Requirements
- University degree in Business or Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Agriculture, Development Economics, International Development or related fields
- Seven years, minimum, of experience in planning, monitoring and evaluation, financial analysis, and business administration
- Experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions (desirable)
- Experience in collecting and analysing information from textual, database and human sources
- Knowledge of English and limited knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
