Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of National Project Coordinator.
FAO is a specialised agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.
Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth implementation of the project activities
- Coordinate field level activities of implementing partners to ensure all activities are implemented on time and to the required standard
- Monitor activity implementation to ensure delivery according to the work plan timeline and support monitoring of expenditures to ensure project-related costs stay within the allocated budget
- Provide technical backstopping to ensure consistency among the various components of the project and related activities as indicated in the project document
- Supervise the procurement of all goods and services for the project
- Ensure regular communication and collaboration with all project stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of information and communication materials and coordinate knowledge management activities
- Prepare and submit reports on progress of project’s implementation as well as the final report in line with donor requirements and guidelines
- Manage the human, material and financial resources allocated to the project for efficient project implementation and delivery
- Perform any other related duties as may be required
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Science or a related field
- Ten years, minimum, of relevant experience in management position in the agriculture and food security sectors in Zimbabwe
- Excellent understanding of the agricultural sector in Zimbabwe
- Nationality of Zimbabwe
