Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of National Project Coordinator.

FAO is a specialised agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth implementation of the project activities
  • Coordinate field level activities of implementing partners to ensure all activities are implemented on time and to the required standard
  • Monitor activity implementation to ensure delivery according to the work plan timeline and support monitoring of expenditures to ensure project-related costs stay within the allocated budget
  • Provide technical backstopping to ensure consistency among the various components of the project and related activities as indicated in the project document
  • Supervise the procurement of all goods and services for the project
  • Ensure regular communication and collaboration with all project stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of information and communication materials and coordinate knowledge management activities
  • Prepare and submit reports on progress of project’s implementation as well as the final report in line with donor requirements and guidelines
  • Manage the human, material and financial resources allocated to the project for efficient project implementation and delivery
  • Perform any other related duties as may be required

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Science or a related field
  • Ten years, minimum, of relevant experience in management position in the agriculture and food security sectors in Zimbabwe
  • Excellent understanding of the agricultural sector in Zimbabwe
  • Nationality of Zimbabwe
