Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking to fill the role of WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Team Leader.
DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs).
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the WASH Manager, support and set up the monitoring plan according to logical framework, activity progress updates
- Propose technical approaches, assist with the financial layout, workforce and logistics for the activities to be implemented
- Adopt the different information-education-communication (IEC) and behavioural change communication (BCC) materials
- Plan and organise NFI distributions together with the SMS and protection team
- Collect information and assist in the quality analysis of the activities carried out
- Provide technical support and solutions on difficulties of construction or HP activities
- Implement activities in accordance with DRC technical requirements and financial donor criteria
- Establish safety and security measures for each activity
- Ensure compliance with national and international norms and quality standards
- Perform all other tasks and responsibilities assigned by WASH Manager for the benefit of DRC
Requirements
- Qualification in Public Health Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Three years, minimum, of experience in hygiene promotion and similar role in WASH, development and/or humanitarian sector is an advantage
- Three years, minimum, of experience in managing team and field staff
- Experienced working on construction and engineering projects is an asset
- Experience in conducting monitoring, evaluation and reporting of distribution and/or NFI and/or shelter and/or WASH programming is an advantage
- Experience in working on projects funded by UNHCR, IOM, UNICEF and ECHO is an advantage
- Experience with digital data gathering platforms and tools (such as Kobo) including design of formats and evaluation of data
- Knowledge of using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
- Ability to think methodically and to manage projects using strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
- Basic knowledge of French is an asset
