Apply: DRC Regional Economic Recovery Specialist

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking to fill the position of Regional Economic Recovery Specialist.

DRC provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, and internally displaced people (IDPs).

Responsibilities

  • Assist country operations on economic recovery development and associated resource mobilisation
  • Collaborate with other sector coordinators at regional and country levels to explore options for integrated programming
  • Support uptake/better use of targeted market assessment and analysis in support of market systems programming across DRC’s response framework, including the mainstreaming of the minimum economic recovery standards (MERS)
  • Contribute to modality due diligence processes to support the selection of appropriate and relevant assistance
  • Help to identify technical and/or programmatic gaps and provide training, mentoring and capacity building as required
  • Contribute to technical support in multi-purpose cash programmes, use of sectoral CVA, financial inclusion, livelihoods protection, restoration, and development
  • Follow up on the implementation of DRC’s minimum standards for economic recovery programming and support the training in core programme tools, guidance and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required
  • In close collaboration with MEAL and EcRec teams, support outcome monitoring to measure programme quality, and evaluate impact, cost-effectiveness, and relevance
  • Support DRC operations to increase participation and accountability

Requirements

  • Five years, minimum, of international field experience with international humanitarian and/or development organisations, and demonstrable experience working on economic recovery programming in contexts of forced displacement
  • Strong knowledge of cash and voucher assistance, including procurement and management of financial service providers, in particular digital delivery mechanisms
  • Relevant practitioner knowledge of livelihoods support (including emergency and resilience interventions)
  • Familiarity with self-reliance programming, including safety net programmes and the graduation approach is desirable
  • Experience in West Africa, and strong knowledge of livelihood zones across the region is expected
  • Food security and agriculture-based or livestock-based livelihoods expertise will be a plus
  • Experience in delivering targeted and high-quality technical training and capacity building, including in settings with remote technical management
  • Substantial experience in a technical advisory role and strong proposal development skills
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail,a and ability to determine priorities
