Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking to fill the position of Protection Programme Manager.

DRC provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure constant monitoring of project achievements, activity and process indicators, and report on them on a monthly basis
  • Monitor budget and expenditure planning in compliance with DRC and donor rules and report on it on a monthly basis
  • Update the project monitoring tool and the budget monitoring tool and communicate
  • Ensure at least monthly planning and updating of schedule of activities
  • Establish the purchasing plan with the logistics department and monitor purchases throughout projects
  • Monitor and analyse the operational environment from a protection perspective, and share information and data that contribute to the development of strategies to strengthen DRC’s protection response
  • Establish a recruitment and financing plan and ensure the recruitment of protection teams, if necessary, in collaboration with the HR department
  • Ensure the daily management of protection teams including schedules, evaluations and career monitoring
  • Ensure the fluidity of communication within the team and a good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each team member
  • Strengthen the capacities of protection staff through constant support and coaching as well as specific and regular training sessions to ensure the quality of the activities implemented

Requirements

  • Three years, minimum, of experience in the implementation of field protection projects in emergency or post-emergency situations with an international NGO
  • Two years, minimum, of experience in personnel management in similar positions
  • Proven experience in displacement contexts
  • Good understanding of international humanitarian law, human rights, protection monitoring, programmes for the fight against gender-based violence, child protection
  • Good knowledge of integrated livelihoods and protection programmes is an asset
  • Very good command of humanitarian principles
  • Experience working on projects funded by several donors
  • Experience in supervision and capacity building of national staff
  • Very good skills in report writing, project monitoring, and budget management
  • Solid experience in information protection management and associated analysis tools
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to handle heavy workload and work under pressure in a volatile environment
  • Excellent command of basic computer tools
  • Perfect command of French (reading, speaking and writing) and professional proficiency in English
  • Good understanding and commitment to DRC values
