The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has opened applications for the role of Regional Programme Quality and Development Coordinator.

DRC provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Responsibilities

  • Support the process to position DRC for relevant programming across West and Central Africa through engagement with key stakeholders at regional level
  • Support DRC engagement with institutional donors in order to facilitate technical programme exchanges, influence policy and thinking, and identify key areas of potential cooperation, including programme funding
  • Actively seek partnerships and collaboration with non-traditional DRC partners and donors at regional level
  • Assist in identifying and establishing strategic partnerships across the region in collaboration with regional office and and country offices SMTs
  • Support the design and implementation of national and regional resource mobilisation strategies intended to strengthen funding and partnerships
  • Support the adequate resourcing of programmes within West Africa
  • Monitor the funding pipeline and lead on new strategic business development and forecasting
  • Actively identify, qualify and track funding and partnership opportunities in a systematic manner in pursuit of supporting DRC programming in West Africa
  • Actively track multi-country funding opportunities and look for new consortium partnerships with stakeholders at regional level for multi-country programming
  • Prepare all necessary groundwork for national, multi-country or multi-regional proposal development and bid management
  • Help assemble bid development teams
  • Ensure quality of proposals of country, multi-country or multi-regional strategic bids in strong collaboration with regional and country programme teams

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Law, Economics, or International Development
  • Advanced degree (preferred)
  • Five years, minimum, of experience and success in engaging bilateral and multilateral donors for an international agency
  • Demonstrable experience working in fundraising and business development in West Africa
  • Demonstrated ability to devise and implement resource mobilisation strategies
  • Proven ability to secure new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Experience working with technical teams to develop programme proposals that are funded by institutional donors
  • Strong networking, representation, and negotiation skills
  • Superior computer skills
  • Fluency in French and English (oral and written)
