Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking to fill the position of Livelihoods Officer.
DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in conflict areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver business training and SME development, business grants, life-skills training, vocational training and other training materials to beneficiaries in line with project plans and budgets, using tools and training materials developed by DRC
- Deliver micro-credit loan activities, savings groups, group enterprise development and facilitation activities in line with project plans and budgets, using tools and training materials developed by DRC
- Ensure efficient and effective programme implementation, following the budget and work plan
- Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports and proposals and budgets for donors
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector relevant issues
- Represent DRC at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings
- Ensure integration with other DRC sectors
- Develop project plans and budgets for funding
- Develop project tools
- Ensure project implementation and reporting
- Monitor and evaluate projects
Requirements
- Degree in Disaster Risk Management, Economics, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field
- Six years, minimum, of practical experience in sector area working for an international non-governmental organisation
- Field experience in livelihoods or resilience programming
- Experience in delivering business training and SME development, business grants, life-skills training, vocational training, micro-credit loans, savings groups activities
- Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced English proficiency
- Fluency in Somali
