Apply: CSC Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) has announced a call for applications for the Commonwealth Masters Scholarships.

Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the scholarships are designed to enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development.

Benefits

  • Payment of return ticket at the end of programme (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor the cost of journeys made before confirmation of award)
  • Tuition fees
  • Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,116 per month, or £1,369 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area
  • Warm clothing allowance, where applicable

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country or have a granted refugee status, or be a British protected person
  • Applicant must be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Applicant must be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2021
  • By September 2021, applicant must hold a first degree of at least upper second class honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a master’s degree)
  • Applicant must not be registered for a PhD, or an MPhil leading to a PhD, at a UK university or in home country before September/October 2021
  • Applicant must be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
  • Applicant must have provided all supporting documentation in the required format
  • Open to citizens of 26 countries, including Botswana, Ghana, Mauritius, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, and South Africa
