The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is seeking to fill the role of Project Director, Global Fund Malaria.
The CRS works with local, national and international Catholic institutions and structures, as well as other organisations, to assist people on the basis of need.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure strategic objectives and results are accomplished and meet technical quality standards through annual and quarterly activity planning and budget forecasts
  • Lead quarterly technical review of implementation plans
  • Manage team dynamics and staff well-being
  • Provide coaching and mentoring
  • Strategically tailor development plans and complete performance assessments for direct reports
  • Oversee the development of staffing plans and recruitment process of senior staff
  • Coordinate with monitoring, evaluation, learning and accountability (MEAL) department to oversee the design and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation system, using appropriate forms, procedures, and tools for data collection and analysis
  • Manage and mitigate risk
  • Ensure compliance in Global Fund Malaria grant
  • Coordinate relationships with SR and other partner organisations
  • Contribute to coordination of roles and activities of staff from SR and other partner organisations
  • Create and maintain proper conditions for learning
  • Establish a safe environment for sharing of ideas, solutions, and difficulties and the capacity to detect, analyse and respond quickly to deficiencies
  • Identify performance gaps and training opportunities for CRS and partner staff and ensure the design and delivery of high-quality training and technical assistance
  • Ensure that the Zero Cash Policy (ZCP) is respected, progressively evaluated and develop/update ZCP alleviation plans with Ministry of Health and its programmes and entities

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in International Development, International Relations or a related field
  • Five years, minimum, of experience in managing large scale development grants, preferably focusing on health and malaria
  • Proven track record of successful management of Global Fund-funded programme, including management of multi-activity projects, complicated logistics and large budgets, as well as health products and medical commodities
  • Three years, minimum, of supervisory experience, including performance evaluation, coaching and mentoring
  • Knowledge of CRS partnership strategy and partner management experience will be a plus
  • Experience working in West Africa (preferred)
  • Excellent report-writing skills
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in budget and project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
