Committed to Good (CTG) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Country Manager, Operations.
CTG provides specialist staffing solutions for the most challenging locations, supporting clients globally in fragile, conflict-affected countries and disaster environments.
Responsibilities
- Support establishment, mobilisation and implementation during operational phases pertaining to clients’ demands
- Travel from time to time to other of the company’s offices/GHQ as well as to other countries within the wider East Africa region as potential business opportunities might arise in such countries
- Manage the immediate response for any unplanned, in country client meetings and act as CTG’s representative in relations to project expansion, issues, problems and general day-to-day client relationship management
- Conduct a monthly client project review, face to face with each client, supported by the commercial department
- Responsible for any procurement and purchasing, ensuring budgets are not exceeded and the director of operations has approved financial expenditures
- Ensure all suppliers provide the best price solutions, ensuring three competitive quotations are received for procurement over the minimum threshold set by the authority matrix
- Provide the director operations with insight to all programme areas and closely monitor all aspects of ongoing programmes
- If required and in liaison with the Africa account management team, work directly with the in-country programme managers to address problematic challenges and ensure all programmes are well managed and staffed
- Upon appointment, train, and throughout employment, mentor all Nigeria staff to provide the turnkey and niche HR capabilities which CTG has agreed to provide to each client under their portfolio
- Provide initial direction to Nigeria-based portfolio team responsible for all logistics
- Provide timely and accurate weekly reports to the director of operations
- Work to ensure staff and consultant morale is maintained & conduct performance evaluations for permanent CTG staff that are under your direct management
- Resolve any staff and consultant disputes and disagreements and enforce disciplinary measures as necessary and in liaison with the director of operations
- Be part of the planning team responsible for the establishment of operations in new areas of Nigeria which shall include, but not limited to, developing CTG staff positions, scoping of locations/sites, procurement and development of new country specific procedures
- Coordinate the in-country procurement for operational offices
- Serve as the security focal point in Nigeria and monitor security situations in liaison with local authorities, local national staff and any other appropriate sources and provide security guidance and advice to consultants and staff, both internationals & locals alike, assuring that security and safety procedures are updated, monitored and adhered to by all
- Assist in the facilitation of security transport for our international staff and consultants, ensuring the organisation remains within its client-approved budgets and in liaison with its clients’ security representatives
- Support field security officer with crisis management, including evacuation and medical assistance, of CTG staff and consultants operating in Nigeria
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, and Social Sciences
- Five years, minimum, of demonstrable relevant HR experience
- Five years, minimum, of experience in Middle East and/or Africa
- Fluency in English (essential)
- French (preferred)
