CLEEN Foundation is seeking to fill the role of Legal and Human Resources Officer

CLEEN Foundation is non-governmental organisation (NGO) with the mission to promote public safety, security and accessible justice through the strategies of empirical research, legislative advocacy, demonstration programmes and publications.

Responsibilities

  • Offer legal advice and support to legal-related projects or task that the organisation is saddled with
  • Draft and review letters and contracts and all legal documents for the organisation, ensuring that all contract terms submitted represent the best interest of the organisation
  • Identify legal requirements and government regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Review new contracts or amendments to existing contracts prior to execution by management
  • Assist in the resolution of legal matters and advise management on any arising legal issues
  • Liaise with government agencies and all external contractors on any legal or statutory issues
  • Draft, review and implement HR policies and procedures for the company
  • Ensure and maintain an accurate filing system for proper staff documentation
  • Manage, oversee and supervise new staff recruitment, onboarding and induction of staff
  • Provide and manage training for all staff at various levels for continuous employee development
  • Coordinate employee performance appraisal with head of institutional services department
  • Supervise and manage employee issues within the organisation
  • Safeguard the interests of the organisation and the employees as far as statutory requirements are concerned
  • Handle other related and administrative issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum, in Law (LLB)
  • Five years, minimum, of relevant work experience
  • Relevant qualification in human resource or good knowledge (either by study or workplace experience) of human resources management practice will be an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of corporate and labour law and an ability to draft legal documents
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to operate with little or no supervision
  • Good team leadership qualities with excellent relationship management skills
  • Computer literacy with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to liaise with external legal and regulatory bodies on company matters
  • Strong organisational skills and flexibility
  • Excellent interpersonal skills within a multinational and cultural context
  • Creative and strategic thinking
  • Good use of discretion where necessary
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Eye for detail and ability to work under work pressure of deadlines
