CLEEN Foundation is seeking to fill the role of Executive Director.
CLEEN Foundation is non-governmental organisation (NGO) with the mission to promote public safety, security and accessible justice through the strategies of empirical research, legislative advocacy, demonstration programmes and publications.
Responsibilities
- Provide programme, administrative, budgeting and financial leadership to all staff members of the foundation
- Head the management team of the foundation, reporting directly to the board of CLEEN Foundation
- Provide board support activities, participating in all board meetings; acting as secretary, and ensuring that all board decisions are implemented to the latter
- Lead on all project ideas, proposal writing and fundraising for the foundation, and ensure at all times that there are adequate funds for the smooth running of the organisation
- Take the lead in ensuring the development of projects, implementation, knowledge and partnership-building around the organisation’s key thematic areas: public safety and security, accountability and justice, research and strategy development, and international programmes
- Manage the relationship between CLEEN funders and development partners
Requirements
- Master’s degree, minimum, in Social Sciences, Humanities, Law or a related field from a reputable university
- Ten years, minimum, of experience in the nonprofit and development sector
- Two years, minimum, of experience as a programme manager in a nonprofit
- One year, minimum, of experience in the role of executive director in a nonprofit
- Experience working around security sector and criminal justice reform programming (desirable)
- Membership of reputable professional bodies will be an asset
- Demonstrable team-oriented personality and leadership skills
- Proven project development, fundraising and project implementation skills
